Murkrow Diamond & Pearl Guide
In Diamond & Pearl, Murkrow isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Honchkrow to unlock its full potential. At 405 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Insomnia is the go-to ability for Murkrow. It prevents sleep. Super Luck is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
In Diamond & Pearl, Murkrow fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 85 Attack and 85 Sp. Atk. Base 91 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. And it's fragile, can't afford to take many hits.
In Diamond & Pearl, Murkrow does the job early-game if you need a Dark/Flying type on your team. Evolve it into Honchkrow before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Game Availability
Murkrow has been available in 17 games since Gold & Silver, though obtaining it requires an item-based evolution. This extra step makes it less common than Pokemon found through standard wild encounters.
