Loudred Weakness

Type-wise, Loudred takes extra damage from Fighting. Ghost moves do nothing thanks to a full immunity. Only 1 weakness makes it relatively easy to build around defensively.

Loudred Guide

  • Loudred isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Exploud to unlock its full potential. At 360 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • Loudred's biggest threats include Machamp (Fighting), all carrying super-effective STAB moves. Only 1 weakness means fewer dedicated counters to worry about.

  • Soundproof is the go-to ability for Loudred. It protects against sound-based moves. Its hidden ability Scrappy can work in specific setups.

  • Loudred fills the balanced role. It's a mixed attacker with base 71 Attack and 71 Sp. Atk. Base 48 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go.

  • Loudred does the job early-game if you need a Normal type on your team. Evolve it into Exploud before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.

Game Availability

Loudred first appeared in Ruby & Sapphire and has been available in 14 games across 8 generations. Obtainable through catching or hatching as a base form in most titles where it appears.
