Klang Sun & Moon Guide
In Sun & Moon, Klang isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Klinklang to unlock its full potential. At 440 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.
Plus is the go-to ability for Klang. It increases Special Attack to 1.5× when a friendly Pokémon has plus or minus. Its hidden ability Clear Body can work in specific setups. Minus is the other option. Pick based on what your team needs.
In Sun & Moon, Klang fills the support role. It's a mixed attacker with base 80 Attack and 70 Sp. Atk. Base 50 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
In Sun & Moon, Klang does the job early-game if you need a Steel type on your team. Evolve it into Klinklang before the later gyms and it holds up fine through the story.
Game Availability
Introduced in Black & White, Klang has appeared in 7 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
