Conkeldurr Weakness
Type-wise, Conkeldurr takes extra damage from Flying and Psychic. Its Fighting typing keeps the defensive matchups simple. Conkeldurr's physical bulk (base 95 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.
| Damage | Types |
|---|---|
| 2x (Weak) | Flying, Psychic |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Bug, Rock, Dark |
- Fairy type does not exist — Dragon has fewer checks
- Physical / Special split now per-move (introduced Gen IV)

It is thought that Conkeldurr taught humans how to make concrete more than 2,000 years ago.
They use concrete pillars as walking canes. They know moves that enable them to swing the pillars freely in battle.
Conkeldurr Black & White Guide
In Black & White, Don't let Conkeldurr's 505 base stat total fool you. Sheer Force is what makes it tick. It punches way above its weight class. We rate it A-Tier as a wallbreaker. Drain Punch with Leftovers is the standard set.
Conkeldurr is obtained by trade-evolving Gurdurr. Catch or evolve a Gurdurr first, then trade. Trade needs a Game Boy Advance link cable and a second GBA running another Gen 3 game (FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald). Trade Gurdurr to a friend, then have them trade it back. The 2026 Switch re-release supports the same trade through local wireless on the Pokemon Center 2F Wireless Club, with no cables required.
In Black & White, Run Sheer Force on Conkeldurr. It's the ability that defines how you build around it and the main reason it holds a competitive niche. Conkeldurr also gets Guts and Iron Fist, but they don't compare.
In Black & White, Conkeldurr fills the wallbreaker role. It's a physical attacker with base 140 Attack. Base 45 Speed is low. Priority moves or Trick Room are the way to go. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.
Game Availability
Introduced in Black & White, Conkeldurr has appeared in 8 games across 6 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
