Is Aron Good in Sword & Shield Playthrough?
Aron shows up in the Crown Tundra DLC. Steel/Rock evolving into Aggron at level 42 is a long road, but the defensive typing resists Normal, Flying, Bug, Rock, Ice, Dragon, Fairy, and Psychic. Postgame DLC timing limits story use, but Aggron is a solid physical wall for Crown Tundra content.

Aron Weakness
Aron is weak to Fighting, Ground, and Water. Watch out for Fighting and Ground attacks, those deal 4x damage. On the flip side, it's immune to Poison-type moves entirely. With 8 resistances, the defensive profile is strong. Aron's physical bulk (base 100 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

| 2x (Weak) | Water |
| 0.5x (Resist) | Ice, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Fairy |

Aron Evolutions
Three stages ahead. Aron grows into Lairon, then pushes on to Aggron. Check the evolution methods below. For breeding, slow to hatch with plenty of partners via one egg group. Evolving adds up to 200 stat points total. View every chain in the Evolution Chart.
How to Evolve
SwSh Aron Best Moveset
Steel/Rock with 100 Defense is bulky for a pre-evo but 50 HP undercuts it and 30 Speed goes dead last. AbilitySturdy guarantees surviving one hit from full, the only competitive trait here. The moveset waits for Aggron's 110 Attack and 180 Defense.

It eats iron ore—and sometimes railroad tracks—to build up the steel armor that protects its body.
When Aron evolves, its steel armor peels off. In ancient times, people would collect Aron’s shed armor and make good use of it in their daily lives.
