Quilladin Weakness

Quilladin's Grass typing leaves it vulnerable to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. It resists 4 types, giving it decent defensive coverage. Quilladin's physical bulk (base 95 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

How to Get Quilladin in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

Quilladin isn't available in the wild in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. Start by transferring Chespin from X. The evolution path from Chespin to Quilladin is covered in the steps below.

How to Obtain Quilladin in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

  1. Chespin
    Step 1Obtain Chespin

    Receive as a gift in:

Then trade to Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire to continue the evolution chain.

  2. Quilladin
    Step 2Quilladin

Quilladin Guide

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Quilladin isn't fully evolved, so it's not built for competitive play. You'll want to evolve it into Chesnaught to unlock its full potential. At 405 BST, it's a stepping stone rather than a team anchor.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, watch for Arcanine (Fire), Walrein (Ice), and Nidoking (Poison) when using Quilladin. They all hit it super-effectively with STAB. Flying and Bug-type attackers are also a problem. With 5 weakness types, most competitive teams carry at least one counter.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Chespin evolves into Quilladin at level 16. Quilladin evolves into Chesnaught at level 36. Quilladin is a middle-stage evolution in the Chespin line.

  • Overgrow strengthens grass moves to inflict 1.5× damage at 1/3 max HP or less. That's the one you want on Quilladin. Bulletproof is the hidden ability. Niche, but it has its uses.

  • In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Quilladin fills the balanced role. It's a physical attacker with base 78 Attack. At base 57 Speed, it won't be moving first often. And it's enough bulk to take a hit or two.

Game Availability

Introduced in X & Y, Quilladin has appeared in 6 games across 5 generations. Later debuts mean fewer total appearances, but it's been a consistent presence since its introduction.
