Download raises the attack stat corresponding to the opponents' weaker defense one stage upon entering battle. That's the one you want on Genesect. It's the only ability Genesect has.
Base 99 Speed is workable. Faster than some, slower than many. On offense, Genesect is a special attacker with base 120 Sp. Atk. Defensively? Enough bulk to take a hit or two. Best used as a wallbreaker.
In Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, run U Turn, Ironhead, Flamethrower, and Ice Beam on Genesect. U Turn is the most common pick at 24% usage. This set covers the wallbreaker role with a mix of damage and utility.
