Bagon Weakness

Bagon's Dragon typing leaves it vulnerable to Ice and Dragon. The Dragon typing picks up 4 resistances to work with. Bagon's physical bulk (base 60 Def) helps cushion physical weakness hits, but special attackers are the bigger threat.

Moves

STAB runs through Draco Meteor and Dragon Rush for the basics, but Bagon's real strength is the 11-type coverage spread. Normal and Dark hit common defensive types, and the movepool keeps going.

Bagon Guide

  • Shelgon at level 30 is the mid-stage. Push through to Salamence at level 50 for the final form. 300 BST right now won't cut it long-term.

  • Level 30 gets you Shelgon. Not the fastest evolution, so consider Exp. Share or route grinding to speed it up.

  • In Black & White, For a casual playthrough, Bagon works as a placeholder. Dragon coverage is useful early. The real payoff is Shelgon. That's where the stats start mattering.

  • You can find Bagon in Black & White. The Locations section has the full breakdown of routes and encounter details. It also appears in 15 other games across the series.

Game Availability

Debuting in Ruby & Sapphire, Bagon appears in 16 games across 8 generations. A reliable presence in most mainline games, typically found through catching or hatching as a base form.
